New Partnership Laia Foundation – Indian Futures, UK
FLM

On 19th June, a new British charity, Indian Futures, was created with the aim to support educational, health, women’s empowerment and other community development projects in South India. The charity is run by two fundraisers, Anna Amado and Tom Anderson, and a trustees’ board formed by Sushma Clark (Chair and Treasurer), Adeline White (Treasurer Assistant) and Cate Taylor (Advisor).

Indian Futures and Laia Foundation will work in partnership in order to continue to develop Laia Foundation’s after-school support centres. The first project that Indian Futures will support consists in providing one computer to every centre in the areas of Vedanthangal and Vandavasi, and training and hiring one IT Coordinator per centre. Once we have all the necessary material and the teachers are IT trained, the centres will provide internet access to all the students already attending our evening tuitions.

You will soon be able to follow the work of Indian Futures on their forthcoming website www.indianfutures.org.uk. We will let you know as soon as this is active.

From Laia Foundation, we would like to congratulate Indian Futures on its foundation and look forward to working with them to create a better future for the inhabitants of Vedanthangal!
